ISO / Quality Standards

In April 2005 MEHL was awarded ISO14001 certification, this was the first ISO14001 certificate awarded to a privately owned landfill operator in Ireland. Obtaining ISO 14001 certification involves independent assessment of the Environmental Management System. External independent auditors will examine in great details the quality of the environmental management techniques applied while operating the facility. The requisites of ISO 14001 are based on common sense and when implemented it has massive operational, financial and compliance benefits.

Having independent assessment and complying with ISO 14001:2004 have significant advantages for MEHL, our customers and our regulators. These include:
